Since ages there is the struggle when erecting the Christmas tree. Hundreds of gadgets must have been invented to help the man in charge doing this properly. But almost every one of these "unfailable and easy to use" inventions has probably tipped over, was a nightmare to use and/or just came appart the minute it was unpacked!? However, since I am the man in the honourable position myself, I used to just nail a cross of 1x2in. wood to the "Tannenbaums" bottom – and was done in short order and quite happy with it. A thus equipped tree would also serve me for half a season as a repositionable obstacle at the shooting range!
This years last-minute-X-mas-tree was calling for yet something more innovative – so I invented the Dacron B-50-Christmas-Tree-Stand! Time for "erecting" our Tannenbaum was about 45 seconds. A simple (2 strand) B-50 Prussik-loop did the job. A Happy Winter Solstice for all!
